Free the mind from unnecessary trouble

Bhagavad-gita 8.8 class, Sydney May 2009
The Lord's Holy Name, chanting Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare, is the recommended process for meditation; controlling the mind, freeing the mind from unnecessary trouble (Srimad Bhagavatam 12.3.52). The fickleness will go and then one can think of the right conception, then meditate on it, and then come into the form of samadhi.

By this process that is recommended, we read in Srila Prabhupada's purport, is called abhyasa-yoga-yuktena cetasa nanya-gamina (Bhagavad-gita 8.8), our consciousness will be controlled, it will not go here and there, it will not wander around if we put up a disciplined effort of chanting Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.
