Give to Him out of love
Bhagavad-gita 9.27 class, Orlando 16th September 2009 Whatever we are, whatever we are made up of, it is totally His energy (Bhagavad-gita 3.10, 10.8). We cannot claim anything on our own. So when we are asked by the Lord, "Don't be miser. Anybody can offer Me a leaf, a flower, fruit or even water (Bhagavad-gita 9.26)"... but it should be done in the manner of loving devotional service. You start giving to Him out of love, not out of want. Neither He is in need, nor can you says "Oh, I cannot afford to give". Even a little water. But He wants us to make an effort, an endeavour to please Him. To offer His own thing, that we cannot claim that it is ours. His Holiness Vedavyasapriya Swami |
